Not long ago I was cruising around Goodreads and Amazon for a freebie to read. As many of you know Ciara is FAMOUS for finding the most interesting, intriguing and unique books, which doesn’t do much for the wallet. So, I was looking for something cheap, sorry free. Well, I did find one book but the cover just didn’t work for me so I searched for others by the author, Pete Morin. That’s when Diary of a Small Fish popped up. Now that was not only an interesting title but the cover was something that really caught my eye.
After reading the blurb, see below the cover art, I knew this would be the perfect book for this adventure in discovery. A self-published book with a big house cover. Even the blurb sounds like a big publisher book.
So good luck Pete, I hope you find the book on my blog.
Blurb for Diary of a Small Fish
When Paul Forte is indicted by a federal grand jury, everyone suspects prosecutor Bernard (don’t call him ‘Bernie’) Kilroy has more on his mind than justice. Then the FBI agent in charge of Paul’s case gives him a clue to the mystery: Kilroy is bent on settling an old family score, and he’s not above breaking the law to do it.
Paul is already dealing with the death of his parents and divorce from a woman he still loves. Now, with the support of an alluring grand juror, Paul must expose the vindictive prosecutor’s own corruption before the jury renders a verdict on his Osso Buco.
How fun! I always enjoy this feature when Ciara does it. I’ll have to agree that this book cover is totally cool and the title intrigues. Time to come out of hiding Pete Morin.

It’ll be interesting if he finds the blog
Thanks so much for participating, Lindsay. 🙂 I hope Pete finds his book. I agree, great cover. I love the premise, too. Off to tweet your post.
Yes, Ciara creates BIG dents in the wallet with her fab choices. 🙂
This has an intriguing blurb, as well as a unique cover. Good choice!
Oh, I love this blurb. You’re right between the cover and blurb, it’s a must buy. I’m thinking of changing my name from LJ DeLeon to Kindle junkie. LOL
I like these kinds of stories where the little guy has to overcome huge obstacles. Reminds me of Dolan’s Cadillac by Stephen King. Thanks for the review.
What a great title. I like the blurb too. Hope the author finds you 🙂
A well deserved notice for a great author. Go Pete!
Ciara always finds interesting books.
Lindsay, you’re busted. I actually saw this on the FB feed yesterday, but just got to read it!
Thanks, buddy.
I’ve yet to figure out how to get anyone on Goodreads to notice me – unless I resort to the anti-social antics.
Eek, I guess I musta seen it this MORNING, since it wasn’t on FB yesterday.
Pete – Thanks so much for playing Did I Notice Your Book with us. 🙂 Congratulations on being noticed.
Lindsay – Thanks again for participating. I’ve had such a great time.
It was a lot of fun.
I agree! funny – my husband is Bernie, don’t call him Bernard 😀
Too funny, Sue!
[note: the real Bernie Kilroy is a fine Cape Cod lawyer who trained me in 1981, and more importantly, shepherded my entry into the Hyannisport Club (at the time for the princely sum of $250)]
I’m always happy when I see the author found their book. This one sounds pretty good too. I’m off to try a sample.
I have Pete’s book and can’t wait to find the time to read it. Perhaps over the holidays. Good luck, Pete, and thanks, Lindsay for reminding me I need to get reading.
Especially my Christmas book Anita
Anita, beware – there are two Christmas episodes in it, and they’re pretty melancholy.
Thank you, Lindsay, and Ciara, for including me in your fun. My reading list just jumped again!
Thanks a lot, Lindsay, for adding YET another book to my TBR list. Good pick.
That is a fun cover!
